Living the Message
Before leaving for work today, I took the time to read the message of the day to be found in my Living Faith Daily Catholic Devotions. The theme today is the title of my post "Living the Message" and the message is one of expressing love.

As I read the piece, I knew that as the the reading exhorted, I do indeed live the message of Christmas every day. I found myself confirming each and every suggestion identified on showing love. I felt pretty good about myself. I'm living the message, aren't I?
Two thoughts came to mind as I headed out the door. Yes, I may practise giving love at every opportunity and in every situation and truly I do not look for any reward but I also realized that there are times when that love is destroyed by surliness, anger, complacency, complaining and the like. I also wondered whether or I recognized when love in all its various forms was shared with me.
These quiet thoughts were like a 'light bulb' moment. Many weeks ago, I decided to be happy and to try to express that happiness more frequently and for longer periods and 2015 gives me that opportunity to try. I also began to count my blessings - friends whom I can call on at any time, friends who lend me their material goods, friends who think of me often and others who pray for me and yet others who are happy with the me that is me. They don't want to change me. They love me warts and all! I also have relatives who love me and tell me so frequently and relatives who express their feelings through small and large gestures.
So as you get back to "business as usual" remember God is love in action. Live the message, every day! Share your thoughts on this post.
Thank you. Inspiring and encouraging words.
ReplyDeleteLove is indeed one of the many ways in which God manifests himself to humanity. It is as wonderful as it is complex. God has given us copious quantities of love to share with others including Him.
