Breast Cancer Month

If  it is October then for some it’s Halloween, for others it’s Double Ten and for most of the world it’s Breast Cancer Month.

Breasts, boobies, tut tuts, jugs, las ta tas,  the girls, cantaloupes, cha chas, whatever you call the mammaries on your chest, I hope you are giving yourself regular checks (YES, you MEN too) and getting the mammogram done on a regular basis.  I must confess I have not had the latter in many a year.  Guilty as charged!  Not trying to make any excuse, put it down to negligence, no money for the tests, long appointment dates at the State health centres.   I must do better.   Please, please take care of your breasts folks!  If I am not mistaken, breast cancer has a tendency to metastasize into other areas of the body.

To all breast cancer survivors, a resounding Yippee, yahoowie!  I am glad you’re still with us! About 1 year ago I lost a friend to this disease.  At the age of 41, Cherry-Ann was no more.  This feisty, giving, cheerful woman has left her family and friends to grieve for a while and rejoice forever when we remember her.  She never told me that she was ill and I wish she had shared that information because I would have made the time for her.  I would have loved her even more, hugged her even more and said good-bye to her.  As I write, I can hear Cherry’s laughter; it feels as if the sound is now entering my ear.  My friend N tells me that his breast cancer found  a few years ago was removed and he is doing well at 86 years of age!

Notice on my blog the revolver map?  Every visitor to my page leaves an eternal dot on the globe. Recent visitors are tagged by the labels showing flag, and city.  My revolver map is pink in honour of Breast Cancer month!  Love your breasts!  Take care of your breasts!

Thanks for reading!

  1. Hi Jin Jin,

A well read article. Find the time and put your name on the list. You have ways of keeping track. Am sure a phone call is all that's needed to remind you of your planned date.

Never thought men could be affected. I better get on board.

As always stay strong. See u soon,

    Tucson,Az.
