Happiness

It's interesting, this thing happiness, that we all seek and it seems it comes through the incremental things we do. For some people it is found in hard work or having money in the bank, the smell of a baby, your pet coming to greet you, standing on a podium giving a speech, liming with the boys, the smell that comes out of the hot earth as the rain beats down, the delight in a friend's eyes when he/she sees you, just jumping up and down, feeling that spring in the knees and ankles, the smile bubbling up to your face as the old heart pumps that blood, sitting in church bonding in the Spirit with a bunch of strangers, sitting in the panyard bonding in the spirit with a bunch of strangers, building a house, watching a child graduate, helping someone solve a problem, laughing at your first boyfriend stupid jokes (yes, many years later, his jokes still aren't funny but you love him, agape love now, so you laugh). O' the list goes on and on and sometimes just sitting and thinking about what happiness means to me, can make me feel at peace. So as I continue to seek that elusive dream, I quote the words of that old song "Don't worry, be happy". I told you that once upon a time, I had a boyfriend who gave corny jokes, so what do you expect from me? LOL!
