God is in His heaven

You know this no job, no home, searching for a job, searching for a rental home is exhausting,

killing on the body and debilitating to the spirit.  I wonder why, how I've reached this low point at this time in my life and it is difficult to see hope and the way forward.

Amidst it all, where I feel that my world is falling apart, I look out through the Dutch doors of the kitchen and as my eyes scan the small back garden,  I realize that the wider world is not falling apart; life continues with beauty shining through, lots of things are flourishing.  Spirit is whispering “God is in His heaven”.

Rachet or Prickly Pear
I look at the bay tree, the jasmine bushes, the ratchet tree  and the orchids bursting with sprays of flowers, violet, lilac with hints of pink, and white, the top doesn't look like the underside.   One orchid has bloomed so many times this year, it amazes me!   Another has kept its spray for more than 3 months!  After about 6 years, another of the orchids has bloomed!   What beauty and perfume!  The lichens on the pots and the wall can be seen as beautiful too.   All the rough spots and funny shapes help to create further beauty to my eyes.

I recognize that I, like the orchid, may indeed bloom after lying dormant.  My rough spots and bumps help to make me as unique as I find each of my plants to be.  For just a little while, my heart is reassured that all will be well.    I do indeed breathe in love and breathe out gratitude.

Won’t you take a bit of time and enjoy the flowers with me?   God is in His heaven.

  2. Jeannelle:

I took a quick scan of beautiful page. The thought that you could write a story of other people who really have no job or no home for a long long time, e.g. those people who live on the street and in shelters. No one has ever asked them how they feel, or what they would like to happen in the future. … Small correction. I think the opuntia ficus is called locally "rachette": ratchet is a verb in technical language to wind something up, e.g. you take a ratchet to a screw that is difficult to remove . I may be wrong. Double check . Have a great day. M.
Yea! God is in his heaven: all is right with the world.

  3. I can see why you will miss that place. The blossoms are tempting. If I lived near that "rachette" tree, I would buy less vegetables. In fact, I can conceive developing a recipe book around it. When everything around you is healthy, you cannot help but be physically, mentally, and psychologically healthy. M
