Laying It Down

I am still at the stage of life where I wonder at the creation of life: how did this world form?  There must be other worlds, I won't be so arrogant as to believe that Earth is the only world.  How did the God, in which I believe create this world and for what purpose?  Why did he put me here, in this time, at this place?   Did my soul really choose this life?  Could it not have made a better selection  :/?  Yes, I am at the beginning.

The car park had quite a few cars parked yet there was a stillness.  The church was empty.  I moved to the sanctuary but it was locked so I ended up in the peace of the church.  The import of the moment hit me; the crucifix covered in red cloth!  Even if one does not believe in God and only sees Jesus as a man, I know I could not die on a cross for anyone!  What He did for us; His darkness ended in light for us! Lawdy, I've not written for more than a month!  I've been kind of running in one place, not finding any time to relax or even think of life and when the words do flow I'm in a space with neither pen nor paper. I was hunting for a phone number, while thinking that I also need to search for a sympathy card for my boss, whose mother died last week and wondering if my answer to the most recent assignment is on target, what am I wearing to work tomorrow, I still need to find a place to live that is nice, in a relatively safe area and with an income that may soon ground to a halt.  Phew! All this is going through my head , when I found another of my poems, written long ago probably when someone else passed on and someone else wanted me to attend a funeral that I did not want to attend.    Check it out! I wrote this many months ago while attending a joyful tea and book reading.  I never published it because the name does not suit the content.  But after so many months of trying to marry the two, I thought that by publishing, one of you readers would be able to find a more appropriate name.

Class finished about 7:30 p.m., last night.  The location to await transportation is a bit desolate but tonight there are a few other students waiting too.  All the mini-buses are full, so nothing stops. The lights of the bus come into view and I hurriedly search my handbag for bus tickets as I frantically flag it down hoping the driver will see my brown hand in the darkness.  The bus slows to a stop and I hurriedly climb aboard

Yesterday I took the day off from work to take care of things that my mind has not been able to direct well. I needed to maintain that appointment with the credit union, see a doctor about the pain in my head that is not leaving, pay the utility bills that I completely forgot about and ended with me having no phone service. I needed to do all the things that a stressed and troubled mind, holding onto the thread of sanity forgets.
